Linux and its influence in life.

Some readers might ask question: why I pick exactly this title ? Reason of that, seems to be quite simple – using Linux has its influence not only for virtual worlds and our activity within. Using Linux has its influence in real life as well. Especially, how we treat problems and how it works on our way to solving problems, and whats more important, it reflects our WILL to solve problems, what makes our brain works harder, even if its only for computer activities. Some people might say, that I jump to conclusions to fast, because of this sentence: “Linux is one way of solving problems...even in real life”. Maybe its because my own experience with Linux, or maybe because others experience, but Microsoft users try to solve problems in completely different way...I will give You an example: if something doesn't work in Windows, lets say PDF reader [reason of that – lack of utilities for that], Linux comes with utilities which built in the system. Ready to go straight away. Maybe it's because simple fact, that Microsoft release their OS products with 5% - 10% of things, which Linux has straight away. When in Linux we have plenty of different kind of utilities [graphic editors, music editor, word processors and more], in Windows we have Notepad and Paint [information might be outdated, since I don't use recent Microsoft releases]. In addition, we have command prompt, Internet Explorer web browser, and one tool which is good, when it comes to usefullness: Outlook Express. It cannot be to good [as we might predict], because mail file has its own limitations, like size [2GB, although this informaction might need an update, because it was long long time ago]. Even though, those are not the biggest hiccups of Microsoft OS...one of the major drawbacks is lack of device drivers built in the system, or instalation. In Linux, on the contrary, we have almost every kind of hardware supported, stability and safe during daily use, and huge amount of software to choose of [vastly open source, wich means FREE of charge, baby yeah !].

Back to subject, or title I should say...why Linux has, or might have influence in our life [and I'm not talking about negative influence!] - it forces us to solve the problem, if it occurs, and in propably every case, this problem might be solved. Sometimes we need to look for the solution around the NET, on forums, or official support sites, or in worse case scenario we can send an email to Linus Torvalds [Linux Creator]. Why it forces us to do that ? Because if we want something to work as it should, or as we want to, we need to adjust our configuration or create it by ourselves. For some people, it might be the “longer road” through life, but along the way, we learn many other things, which might happen to be very useful someday. Of course, we can pick second option, where we do not solve the problem, and devide it's just “Linux fault”, but this kind of attidute is not helpful, in any branch of life. On the other hand, when we meet the problem, natural thing is will to solve it, and it can be easilly seen on a daily basis...maybe after a while, but it's working. One simple explanation for it is this – it's quite similar to getting new skills, but in this case, this new skill is willingness to solve the problems. And that's the thing which we won't find in Windows.
