Carpatia Divide – Day 2 

Raztoki – Korbielów ~70km.

Second day welcomed us with long uphill upon Wielka Racza. I don't remember how long it was, but we've felt a lot tiredness from previous day. At the top we meet other participants who managed to get to the hut at the top of the mountain. We manage to exchange impressions and we continue. Once downhill has started, it become very dangerous – there were trees on the trail. Weather is cloudy, but it wasn't raining yet anyway so we carry on. Unfortunately, storm which we were trying to escape finally coutch up and we get soaked very fast. Difficult conditions make us more vulnerable, and so Tomo hit the ground but fortunately nothing alarming happened. So we continue. On our further way we meet others [nice trio one of which has broken knee and only option is to get to the help at the top of Rysianka]. About this time we continue to the top of the Rysianka, but it's starting to be late – about 6PM. At the top we decide to push to Korbielów, but we are unable to tell how far it is. One thing we know, is that we have to get through Pilsko before we get to Korbielów. Before reaching Pilsko, we meet others and we persuade them to continue with us. They seems to like the idea so we continue now in 5. We've managed to get to Pilsko after 8PM, and it's almost dark so we decide to go down. It's soaking wet and very dangerous but we managed to get to Korbielów about 9PM alive and well. We've found a place to stay and very nice lady got us delicious dinner.
